A federal agency shared that their sole-source technical evaluations for contractor proposals were taking over 30 days. These delays compounded and have led to bandwidth constraints and cost overruns across the agency.
Solution
Hazel adapted its commercial evaluation workflows to assist the agency's evaluation teams in reading and assessing submissions. While keeping judgment in the hands of human reviewers, Hazel built an AI-enhanced evaluations system that enforced citations and emphasized consistency throughout.
Results
The demonstration showed a credible path to reducing evaluation timelines from 30 days to roughly two, while reducing evaluator workload on mechanical tasks and freeing time for more deliberate, higher-yield proposal review. Evaluated against dozens of competing submissions, Hazel's solution was selected first in a competitive federal innovation evaluation, and we continue to build off our previous efforts to provide value to the agency moving forward.
